Great idea, "Great idea" I say because I have similar thoughts. At the moment the site can be programmed so that the forum is the home (index) page. In fact any part of the site can be programmed to be the front page. However I am working on a mod that will allow the member to select which part of the site will be their own personal index page ie the forums.
I will let you know when its completed.

## and lets have the login prompt (where 1 can enter id/password) at the forum index page itself...rather than have a whole seprate "user login page" load up for that! (-:
...additionally v can have the login prompt at all the forum pages, as long as 1 is there as a guest, so that a guest can login from the section/thread s/he is currently going through...without the need to load a seperate user login page! (-:
...when somebody has logged in, the login prompt can be disabled/hidden! (-:
