"Muhammad is God's apostle. Those who follow him are ruthless to the unbelievers but merciful to one another."Victory 48:29

It would be worth asking Baal and "Dr." Cassandra to explain above. LOL!

I had to tell landonlyl, who was discussing quite civilly on another site: You see that is how the verses in Arabic get distorted from English translation by polemics. You will find no such translation by Islamic or even European scholars.

Ashid-daa does not mean ruthless. Ruthless will go with Zalim. All the verse is saying is that those with Muhammad are strong and firm in their belief and do not yield or give in to the beliefs of Kuffars and to Kuffars.

In other words, it is not easy to shake them or their belief at all. Hope this helped a little.

Your input on my above comments would be highly appreciated, Ahmed.

Salam mate

Thanks for asking me the question, indeed I agree with you totally the word Ashiddaa means STRONG

No question about it bro, Shadid means Strong, Ashiddaa is the plural of Shadid

I agree that Zalim can mean Ruthless. But if you want to describe the word Ruthless in Arabic accurately then you need two words together Batsh, and Jabbar, remember that verse that Allah told us that Aad people were Ruthless?. Wa Iza Batashtum, Batashtum Jabbarin

Take care mate

the verse above never said Mohammed and those who follow him, rather Mohammed and those with him, I believe it referes to Mohammed and his sahaba during the first years of Islam where the kuffar were so hostile to them and wanted to genocide them (the Muslims)
