Al-Mursalat (Those Sent)

Translation

Verses 1-50

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.

وَالْمُرْسَلَاتِ عُرْفًا (1)

By those sent one after another.
[Al Quran ; 77:1]

فَالْعَاصِفَاتِ عَصْفًا (2)

And blow with blowing.
[Al Quran ; 77:2]

وَالنَّاشِرَاتِ نَشْرًا (3)

By those who scatter with scattering.
[Al Quran ; 77:3]

فَالْفَارِقَاتِ فَرْقًا (4)

And separate with separation.
[Al Quran ; 77:4]

فَالْمُلْقِيَاتِ ذِكْرًا (5)

And those who deliver the reminder.
[Al Quran ; 77:5]

عُذْرًا أَوْ نُذْرًا (6)

A justification or warning.
[Al Quran ; 77:6]

إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَاقِعٌ (7)

Indeed, what you are promised is to occur.
[Al Quran ; 77:7]

فَإِذَا النُّجُومُ طُمِسَتْ (8)

And when the stars are erased.
[Al Quran ; 77:8]

وَإِذَا السَّمَاءُ فُرِجَتْ (9)

And when the sky is opened.
[Al Quran ; 77:9]

وَإِذَا الْجِبَالُ نُسِفَتْ (10)

And when the mountains are blown away.
[Al Quran ; 77:10]

وَإِذَا الرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتْ (11)

And when the messengers are gathered (to witness).
[Al Quran ; 77:11]

لِأَيِّ يَوْمٍ أُجِّلَتْ (12)

For what day was it postponed?
[Al Quran ; 77:12]

لِيَوْمِ الْفَصْلِ (13)

For the day of separation.
[Al Quran ; 77:13]

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ (14)

And what can make you realize what is the day of separation?
[Al Quran ; 77:14]

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ (15)

Woe, on that day, to the deniers.
[Al Quran ; 77:15]

أَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ الْأَوَّلِينَ (16)

Have We not destroyed the former peoples?
[Al Quran ; 77:16]

ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمُ الْآخِرِينَ (17)

Then We will make them followed by later peoples.
[Al Quran ; 77:17]

كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِالْمُجْرِمِينَ (18)

Thus do We deal with the criminals.
[Al Quran ; 77:18]

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ (19)

Woe, on that day, to the deniers.
[Al Quran ; 77:19]

أَلَمْ نَخْلُقْكُمْ مِنْ مَاءٍ مَهِينٍ (20)

Have We not created you from disdained water;
[Al Quran ; 77:20]

فَجَعَلْنَاهُ فِي قَرَارٍ مَكِينٍ (21)

Then We made it in a firm lodging;
[Al Quran ; 77:21]

إِلَىٰ قَدَرٍ مَعْلُومٍ (22)

For a known destiny?
[Al Quran ; 77:22]

فَقَدَرْنَا فَنِعْمَ الْقَادِرُونَ (23)

And We determined, and excellent are the determiners.
[Al Quran ; 77:23]

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ (24)

Woe, on that day, to the deniers.
[Al Quran ; 77:24]

أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْأَرْضَ كِفَاتًا (25)

Have We not made the earth a container;
[Al Quran ; 77:25]

أَحْيَاءً وَأَمْوَاتًا (26)

Of the living and the dead?
[Al Quran ; 77:26]

وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ شَامِخَاتٍ وَأَسْقَيْنَاكُمْ مَاءً فُرَاتًا (27)

And We have made therein lofty mountains and have given you to drink fresh water.
[Al Quran ; 77:27]

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ (28)

Woe, on that day, to the deniers.
[Al Quran ; 77:28]

انْطَلِقُوا إِلَىٰ مَا كُنْتُمْ بِهِ تُكَذِّبُونَ (29)

Proceed to that which you used to deny.
[Al Quran ; 77:29]

انْطَلِقُوا إِلَىٰ ظِلٍّ ذِي ثَلَاثِ شُعَبٍ (30)

Proceed to a shade having three types.
[Al Quran ; 77:30]

لَا ظَلِيلٍ وَلَا يُغْنِي مِنَ اللَّهَبِ (31)

No cool shade and availing not against the flame.
[Al Quran ; 77:31]

إِنَّهَا تَرْمِي بِشَرَرٍ كَالْقَصْرِ (32)

Indeed, it throws sparks like a palace.
[Al Quran ; 77:32]

كَأَنَّهُ جِمَالَتٌ صُفْرٌ (33)

As if they were yellowish camels.
[Al Quran ; 77:33]

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ (34)

Woe, on that day, to the deniers.
[Al Quran ; 77:34]

هَٰذَا يَوْمُ لَا يَنْطِقُونَ (35)

This is a day on which they will not speak.
[Al Quran ; 77:35]

وَلَا يُؤْذَنُ لَهُمْ فَيَعْتَذِرُونَ (36)

And they will not be permitted to apologise.
[Al Quran ; 77:36]

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ (37)

Woe, on that day, to the deniers.
[Al Quran ; 77:37]

هَٰذَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ ۖ جَمَعْنَاكُمْ وَالْأَوَّلِينَ (38)

This the day of separation, We will gather you and the former peoples.
[Al Quran ; 77:38]

فَإِنْ كَانَ لَكُمْ كَيْدٌ فَكِيدُونِ (39)

So if there was for you a plan, then plan against Me.
[Al Quran ; 77:39]

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ (40)

Woe, on that day, to the deniers.
[Al Quran ; 77:40]

إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي ظِلَالٍ وَعُيُونٍ (41)

Indeed, the pious will be in shades and springs.
[Al Quran ; 77:41]

وَفَوَاكِهَ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ (42)

And fruits from whatever they desire.
[Al Quran ; 77:42]

كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنِيئًا بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ (43)

Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do.
[Al Quran ; 77:43]

إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ (44)

Indeed, thus do We reward the doers of good.
[Al Quran ; 77:44]

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ (45)

Woe, on that day, to the deniers.
[Al Quran ; 77:45]

كُلُوا وَتَمَتَّعُوا قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُمْ مُجْرِمُونَ (46)

Eat and enjoy yourself a little, indeed, you are criminals.
[Al Quran ; 77:46]

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ (47)

Woe, on that day, to the deniers.
[Al Quran ; 77:47]

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ارْكَعُوا لَا يَرْكَعُونَ (48)

And when it is said to them: Bow. They do not bow.
[Al Quran ; 77:48]

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ (49)

Woe, on that day, to the deniers.
[Al Quran ; 77:49]

فَبِأَيِّ حَدِيثٍ بَعْدَهُ يُؤْمِنُونَ (50)

So in what speech after it (the Quran) will they believe?
[Al Quran ; 77:50]
