Al-Suff (The Row)
Translation
Verses 1-14
بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
سَبَّحَ لِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۖ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ (1)
Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth glorifies Allah; and He is the Mighty, the Wise.
[Al Quran ; 61:1]
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لِمَ تَقُولُونَ مَا لَا تَفْعَلُونَ (2)
O you who have believed! Why do you say what you do not do?
[Al Quran ; 61:2]
كَبُرَ مَقْتًا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ أَنْ تَقُولُوا مَا لَا تَفْعَلُونَ (3)
Greatly hated in the sight of Allah that you say what you do not do.
[Al Quran ; 61:3]
إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الَّذِينَ يُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِهِ صَفًّا كَأَنَّهُمْ بُنْيَانٌ مَرْصُوصٌ (4)
Indeed, Allah likes those who fight in His way in a row as if they are a structure joined together.
[Al Quran ; 61:4]
وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِ يَا قَوْمِ لِمَ تُؤْذُونَنِي وَقَدْ تَعْلَمُونَ أَنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ إِلَيْكُمْ ۖ فَلَمَّا زَاغُوا أَزَاغَ اللَّهُ قُلُوبَهُمْ ۚ وَاللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْفَاسِقِينَ (5)
And when Musa said to his people: O my people! Why do you harm me while you know that I am the messenger of Allah to you? And when they deviated, Allah made their hearts deviate. And Allah does not guide the disobedient people.
[Al Quran ; 61:5]
وَإِذْ قَالَ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ يَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ إِنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ إِلَيْكُمْ مُصَدِّقًا لِمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ مِنَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَمُبَشِّرًا بِرَسُولٍ يَأْتِي مِنْ بَعْدِي اسْمُهُ أَحْمَدُ ۖ فَلَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ قَالُوا هَٰذَا سِحْرٌ مُبِينٌ (6)
And when Isa, the son of Mariam, said: O sons of Israel! Indeed, I am the messenger of Allah to you verifying that which was before me of the Taurat and giving the good tidings of a messenger who will come after me whose name is Ahmed. But when he came to them with clear proofs, they said: This is an obvious magic.
[Al Quran ; 61:6]
وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ افْتَرَىٰ عَلَى اللَّهِ الْكَذِبَ وَهُوَ يُدْعَىٰ إِلَى الْإِسْلَامِ ۚ وَاللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ (7)
And who is more unjust than one who forges against Allah lies while being invited to Islam. And Allah does not guide the unjust people.
[Al Quran ; 61:7]
يُرِيدُونَ لِيُطْفِئُوا نُورَ اللَّهِ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَاللَّهُ مُتِمُّ نُورِهِ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْكَافِرُونَ (8)
They want to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah will complete His light, although the unbelievers dislike (it).
[Al Quran ; 61:8]
هُوَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلَ رَسُولَهُ بِالْهُدَىٰ وَدِينِ الْحَقِّ لِيُظْهِرَهُ عَلَى الدِّينِ كُلِّهِ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ (9)
It is He Who sent His messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to make it prevail over all the religions although the polytheists dislike (it).
[Al Quran ; 61:9]
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا هَلْ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَىٰ تِجَارَةٍ تُنْجِيكُمْ مِنْ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ (10)
O you who have believed! Shall I guide you to a trade which may save you from a painful torture?
[Al Quran ; 61:10]
تُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَتُجَاهِدُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ بِأَمْوَالِكُمْ وَأَنْفُسِكُمْ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ (11)
You believe in Allah and His messenger and strive in the way of Allah with your wealth and yourselves. That is good for you, if you should know.
[Al Quran ; 61:11]
يَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ وَيُدْخِلْكُمْ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ وَمَسَاكِنَ طَيِّبَةً فِي جَنَّاتِ عَدْنٍ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ (12)
He will forgive you your sins and admit you into gardens beneath which rivers flow and good dwellings in gardens of Eden. That is the great attainment.
[Al Quran ; 61:12]
وَأُخْرَىٰ تُحِبُّونَهَا ۖ نَصْرٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَفَتْحٌ قَرِيبٌ ۗ وَبَشِّرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ (13)
And another (favour) that you love, victory from Allah and a near conquest; and give good tidings to the believers.
[Al Quran ; 61:13]
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا كُونُوا أَنْصَارَ اللَّهِ كَمَا قَالَ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ لِلْحَوَارِيِّينَ مَنْ أَنْصَارِي إِلَى اللَّهِ ۖ قَالَ الْحَوَارِيُّونَ نَحْنُ أَنْصَارُ اللَّهِ ۖ فَآمَنَتْ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ وَكَفَرَتْ طَائِفَةٌ ۖ فَأَيَّدْنَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا عَلَىٰ عَدُوِّهِمْ فَأَصْبَحُوا ظَاهِرِينَ (14)
O you who believed! Be supporters of Allah, as when Isa, the son of Mariam, said to the disciples: Who are my supporters of Allah? The disciples said: We are supporters of Allah. And a group of the sons of Israel believed and a group disbelieved; so We aided those who believed against their enemy, and they became dominant.
