Al-Taghabun (Mutual Disillusion)
Translation
Verses 1-18
بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
يُسَبِّحُ لِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۖ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ ۖ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ (1)
Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth glorifies Allah. To Him belongs the kingdom, and to Him belongs (all) praise, and He is over everything Capable.
[Al Quran ; 64:1]
هُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُمْ فَمِنْكُمْ كَافِرٌ وَمِنْكُمْ مُؤْمِنٌ ۚ وَاللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ (2)
It is He Who created you, and among you is an unbeliever and among you is a believer; and Allah is over what you do Seeing.
[Al Quran ; 64:2]
خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بِالْحَقِّ وَصَوَّرَكُمْ فَأَحْسَنَ صُوَرَكُمْ ۖ وَإِلَيْهِ الْمَصِيرُ (3)
He created the heavens and the earth in truth and formed you and perfected your forms; and to Him will be the destination.
[Al Quran ; 64:3]
يَعْلَمُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تُسِرُّونَ وَمَا تُعْلِنُونَ ۚ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ (4)
He knows what is in the heavens and the earth and knows what you conceal and what you declare. And Allah is Knowing of what is in the chests.
[Al Quran ; 64:4]
أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ نَبَأُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ قَبْلُ فَذَاقُوا وَبَالَ أَمْرِهِمْ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ (5)
Has there not come to you the news of those who disbelieved before? So they tasted the bad outcome of their affair, and for them there will be a painful torture.
[Al Quran ; 64:5]
ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُ كَانَتْ تَأْتِيهِمْ رُسُلُهُمْ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَقَالُوا أَبَشَرٌ يَهْدُونَنَا فَكَفَرُوا وَتَوَلَّوْا ۚ وَاسْتَغْنَى اللَّهُ ۚ وَاللَّهُ غَنِيٌّ حَمِيدٌ (6)
That is because their messengers used to come to them with proofs, but they said: Will mortals guide us? So they disbelieved and turned away. And Allah does not need (their belief); and Allah is Rich, Praised.
[Al Quran ; 64:6]
زَعَمَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَنْ لَنْ يُبْعَثُوا ۚ قُلْ بَلَىٰ وَرَبِّي لَتُبْعَثُنَّ ثُمَّ لَتُنَبَّؤُنَّ بِمَا عَمِلْتُمْ ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ عَلَى اللَّهِ يَسِيرٌ (7)
Those who have disbelieved have alleged that they will never be resurrected. Say: Yes, by my Lord! You will surely be resurrected, then you will surely be informed of what you did. And that is, upon Allah, easy.
[Al Quran ; 64:7]
فَآمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَالنُّورِ الَّذِي أَنْزَلْنَا ۚ وَاللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌ (8)
So believe in Allah and His messenger and the light which We sent down, and Allah is, of what you do, Acquainted.
[Al Quran ; 64:8]
يَوْمَ يَجْمَعُكُمْ لِيَوْمِ الْجَمْعِ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ التَّغَابُنِ ۗ وَمَنْ يُؤْمِنْ بِاللَّهِ وَيَعْمَلْ صَالِحًا يُكَفِّرْ عَنْهُ سَيِّئَاتِهِ وَيُدْخِلْهُ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ (9)
The day He will gather you for the day of gathering, that is the day of mutual disillusion; and whoever believes in Allah and does good deed, He will remove from him his evil deeds and admit him into gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding therein, forever. That is the great attainment.
[Al Quran ; 64:9]
وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَكَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا أُولَٰئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا ۖ وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيرُ (10)
And (as for) those who have disbelieved and denied Our signs, they are the companions of the fire, abiding therein; and miserable is the destination.
[Al Quran ; 64:10]
مَا أَصَابَ مِنْ مُصِيبَةٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ ۗ وَمَنْ يُؤْمِنْ بِاللَّهِ يَهْدِ قَلْبَهُ ۚ وَاللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ (11)
No disaster strikes except by the permission of Allah; and whoever believes in Allah, He will guide his heart; and Allah is, of everything, Knowing.
[Al Quran ; 64:11]
وَأَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ ۚ فَإِنْ تَوَلَّيْتُمْ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَىٰ رَسُولِنَا الْبَلَاغُ الْمُبِينُ (12)
And obey Allah and obey the messenger, but if you turn away, then upon Our messenger is only the obvious delivery.
[Al Quran ; 64:12]
اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۚ وَعَلَى اللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ (13)
Allah, there is no god except Him. And upon Allah let the believers rely.
[Al Quran ; 64:13]
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّ مِنْ أَزْوَاجِكُمْ وَأَوْلَادِكُمْ عَدُوًّا لَكُمْ فَاحْذَرُوهُمْ ۚ وَإِنْ تَعْفُوا وَتَصْفَحُوا وَتَغْفِرُوا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ (14)
O you who have believed! Indeed, among your spouses and your children are enemies to you, so beware of them. But if you pardon and forbear and forgive, then indeed, Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
[Al Quran ; 64:14]
إِنَّمَا أَمْوَالُكُمْ وَأَوْلَادُكُمْ فِتْنَةٌ ۚ وَاللَّهُ عِنْدَهُ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ (15)
Your wealth and your children are only a trial, and Allah has with Him a great reward.
[Al Quran ; 64:15]
فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ وَاسْمَعُوا وَأَطِيعُوا وَأَنْفِقُوا خَيْرًا لِأَنْفُسِكُمْ ۗ وَمَنْ يُوقَ شُحَّ نَفْسِهِ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ (16)
So fear Allah as much as you can and hear and obey and spend, it is better for you; and whoever fears the stinginess of his soul, it is them who will be the successful.
[Al Quran ; 64:16]
إِنْ تُقْرِضُوا اللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا يُضَاعِفْهُ لَكُمْ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ۚ وَاللَّهُ شَكُورٌ حَلِيمٌ (17)
If you loan Allah a goodly loan, He will multiply it for you and forgive you; and Allah is Appreciative, Forbearing.

عَالِمُ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ (18)
The Knower of the unseen and the testimony, the Mighty, the Wise.
