2.61 - And when you said: O Musa! We cannot be patient over one food; so call upon your Lord to bring forth for us of what the earth grows of its herbs and its cucumbers and its garlic and its lentils and its onions. He (Musa) said: Will you exchange that which is better for that which is less? Enter Egypt, and indeed, for you is what you asked for. And they were struck with humiliation and poverty, and they deserved the anger of Allah because they used to disbelieve in the signs of Allah, and they used to kill the prophets without right; that was because they disobeyed and they used to perpetrate. 2.62 - Indeed, those who have believed, and those who are Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians, whoever have believed in Allah and the last day and done good deed, then they will have their reward from their Lord, and no fear will be upon them, nor will they grieve. 2.63 - And when We took your covenant and lifted the Tur mount over you: Take what We have given you strongly and remember what is in it that perhaps you may fear. 2.64 - Then you turned away after that; but had it not been for the grace of Allah upon you and His mercy, you would have been among the losers. 2.65 - And you have certainly known those among you who have perpetrated in the Sabbath, so We said to them: Be despised apes. 2.66 - And We made it a punishment for those who were present and those who came after them, and an admonition for those who fear. 2.67 - And when Musa said to his people: Allah commands you that you should slaughter a cow; they said: Do you take us in ridicule? He said: I seek refuge in Allah from being among the ignorant. 2.68 - They said: Call upon your Lord to explain to us what it is. Musa said: He says it is a cow neither old nor too young but in between; so do what you are commanded. 2.69 - They said: Call upon your Lord to explain to us what is her colour. Musa said: He says she is a yellow cow; its colour is bright giving delight to the onlookers. 2.70 - They said: Call upon your Lord to explain to us what it is; indeed, the cows look alike to us. And indeed, if Allah wills, we will be guided.
