2.71 - He (Musa) said: He says, it is a cow which does not plough the land, nor does it irrigate the tilth; (it is) sound and without a spot on it. They said: Now you have come with the truth. So they slaughtered it, though they almost did not. 2.72 - And when you killed a soul and you argued concerning it , and Allah was to bring out that which you were concealing. 2.73 - And We said: Strike him (the deceased) with part of it (the cow). Thus does Allah bring the dead to life and shows you His signs that perhaps you may understand. 2.74 - Then your hearts hardened after that, being like stones, or even harder. And indeed, there are some stones from which rivers burst forth, and indeed, there are some of them that split open then water comes out of them, and there are some of them which fall down from the fear of Allah. And Allah is not unaware of what you do. 2.75 - Do you hope that they would believe for you while a team of them used to hear the words of Allah, then distort it after they had understood it while they know? 2.76 - And when they meet those who have believed, they say: We have believed. And when some of them are alone with others; they say: Do you talk to them about what Allah has disclosed to you so they may argue with you about it before your Lord? So will you not understand? 2.77 - Or do they not know that Allah knows what they conceal and what they declare? 2.78 - And among them are illiterates who do not know the book except wishful thinking; and indeed, they are not except assuming. 2.79 - And woe to those who write the book with their hands then say: This is from Allah, in order to exchange it for a small price. So woe to them for what their hands have written, and woe to them for what they earn. 2.80 - And they say: Fire will never touch us except for numbered days. Say: Have you received a covenant from Allah? For Allah will not change His covenant, or do you say about Allah what you do not know?
