46.21 - And remember the brother of Ad; when he warned his people in the dunes. And warners have passed on before him and after him, (saying:) Do not worship except Allah; indeed, I fear upon you the torture of a great day. 46.22 - They said: Have you come to us to delude us away from our gods? So bring us what you promise us, if you should be of the truthful. 46.23 - He (Aad) said: The knowledge is only with Allah, and I convey to you that with which I was sent, but I see you an ignorant people. 46.24 - So when they saw it as a cloud approaching their valleys, they said: This is a cloud bringing us rain. Rather, it is what you hastened for; a wind in which will be a painful torture. 46.25 - It destroys everything by the command of its Lord, so they became so that nothing could be seen except their homes. Thus do We reward the criminal people. 46.26 - And We had certainly established them in such as We have not established you. And We made for them hearing and visions and hearts, but neither their hearing nor their visions nor their hearts availed them from anything when they rejected the signs of Allah; and they were enveloped by that which they used to ridicule. 46.27 - And We have certainly destroyed what surrounds you of the villages, and We have explained the signs that perhaps they will return. 46.28 - Then why did those whom they took for gods other than Allah to draw (them) near (Allah) not help them? Rather, they had strayed from them. And that was their falsehood and what they used to forge. 46.29 - And when We directed to you a few of the jinn listening to the Quran; so when they came to it, they said: Listen quietly; and when it was finished, they went back to their folk as warners. 46.30 - They said: O our folk! We have heard a book sent down after Musa confirming that which is before it which guides to the truth and to a straight path.
