Al-Infitar (The Cracking)
Translation
Verses 1-19
بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْفَطَرَتْ (1)
When the sky is cracked.
[Al Quran ; 82:1]
وَإِذَا الْكَوَاكِبُ انْتَثَرَتْ (2)
And when the planets are scattered.
[Al Quran ; 82:2]
وَإِذَا الْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ (3)
And when the seas are exploded.
[Al Quran ; 82:3]
وَإِذَا الْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ (4)
And when the graves are scattered.
[Al Quran ; 82:4]
عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ (5)
A soul will know what it has put forth and held back.
[Al Quran ; 82:5]
يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنْسَانُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الْكَرِيمِ (6)
O human! What has deceived you from your Lord, the Honourable?
[Al Quran ; 82:6]
الَّذِي خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّاكَ فَعَدَلَكَ (7)
Who has created you, then proportioned you and balanced you.
[Al Quran ; 82:7]
فِي أَيِّ صُورَةٍ مَا شَاءَ رَكَّبَكَ (8)
In whatever image He willed has He assembled you.
[Al Quran ; 82:8]
كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِالدِّينِ (9)
No; rather you deny the recompense.
[Al Quran ; 82:9]
وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَافِظِينَ (10)
And indeed, upon you are keepers.
[Al Quran ; 82:10]
كِرَامًا كَاتِبِينَ (11)
Honoured, (and) are writing.
[Al Quran ; 82:11]
يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ (12)
They know what you do.
[Al Quran ; 82:12]
إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ (13)
Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure.
[Al Quran ; 82:13]
وَإِنَّ الْفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٍ (14)
And indeed, the wicked will be in hellfire.
[Al Quran ; 82:14]
يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ الدِّينِ (15)
They will reach it on the day of recompense.
[Al Quran ; 82:15]
وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَائِبِينَ (16)
And never from it will they be absent.
[Al Quran ; 82:16]
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ (17)
And what can make you realize what is the day of recompense?
[Al Quran ; 82:17]
ثُمَّ مَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ (18)
Then, what can make you realize what is the day of recompense?
[Al Quran ; 82:18]
يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِنَفْسٍ شَيْئًا ۖ وَالْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلَّهِ (19)
The day a soul will not possess for another soul a thing; and the command on that day is with Allah.
